Leightons Cobham

Sally is the manager at our Cobham branch and has been for 22 years. She qualified as a dispensing optician as a mature student in 2004 from Leightons Epsom. Her main priority is to always have a friendly and welcoming environment for both customers and employees.
Outside work, Sally’s hobbies include dog-walking, dancing, sports and now babysitting my new granddaughter.

After leaving school, John enjoyed an 18 year-long career working in ophthalmic services. Then as a natural extension of that career, six years ago he went back to studying at De Montfort University in Leicester, gaining a distinction in his degree in Hearing Aid Audiology. Since qualifying, John has worked in the private sector, dispensing a range of hearing aid styles from various manufacturers. He has also worked in the NHS, and has built up a wealth of experience performing wax removal procedures.
John values the patient experience above all else and puts it at the heart of everything he does. Leightons provides him expert equipment, the latest technologies and most importantly the time to deliver the level of service he believes all patients should receive.
In his free time, John loves gardening and is a competent DIYer, who always has a project on the go. He is also a cat dad to two boys and enjoys a wide range of movie and TV genres.

Lucy became a qualified Optometrist in 2011 and has worked in a variety of settings since, including independent and chain practices as well as the NHS. Lucy has a particular interest in binocular vision and is proud to have achieved her Independent Prescribing Diploma in 2021.
“I decided to join Leightons because I wanted to go back to work within an independent practice, and with Leightons, I have access to the very best quality equipment and products to offer to my patients. One of my favourite things about this role is getting to work alongside such a highly skilled team.
I have two lovely girls aged one and four, as well as two Italian greyhounds, all of which keep me very busy when I am not at work!”

"I've been an optometrist for over 30 years and have worked in both hospital eye departments and private practice. This is an exciting time to be an optometrist with new developments in diagnosing and treating ocular disorders. With all the fantastic new research going on I sometimes wish I could go back to University and start all over again!!"

Nikhil has been in the Ophthalmic industry since 2012. He has worked in a variety of practices across the country, before settling with Leightons in Egham. This has provided him with invaluable clinical experience and understanding of his patients’ needs. In summer 2018, Nikhil travelled to Zambia with a team of Optometrists on a Vision Aid Overseas project, which provided eye care to rural communities in the country. He has a keen interest in charity work and looks forward to making the most of his skills on another assignment in the near future. Outside of work, Nikhil enjoys exploring new cities, and dabbles in amateur photography, from time to time.

Outside of work Carrie enjoys… Painting and is a keen artist in her spare time, working mostly with acrylics but recently trying enamels for traditional sign painting. Carrie also loves am-dram, reading and anything crafty.
