Dr Na’eem Ahmed is a Consultant Radiologist and our Non-Executive Clinical Director. He brings a wealth of experience to Oryon Imaging, having been recognised many times for his commitment to healthcare and other endeavours, including being awarded the Point of Light award from Prime Minister David Cameron and the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019.
Dr Ahmed completed undergraduate medicine at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, winning the St Thomas’ Hospital Cup. He began Academic Foundation Training at King’s College Hospital, before completing Radiology training with subspecialty imaging Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Dr. Zavareh did his training in clinical radiology at University College London Hospital. He then went on to Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (Oxford) for his musculoskeletal (MSK) subspecialty training, followed by a one-year MSK Radiology fellowship at the North Bristol NHS Trust. Since 2014, he has been an MSK Radiology Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. His academic interests are in education and research, regularly teaching at courses and publishing in peer reviewed journals.

Dr Nyree Griffin graduated with Honours in Medicine at the University of Bristol and was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal Award for coming first in her year. She undertook a 2-year Research Fellowship at the University of Nottingham and received a Doctorate in Medicine.
She was appointed a Consultant Radiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2008, having trained in general radiology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, followed by a 1 year Cross-sectional fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. She is the Gastrointestinal radiology lead in her trust, having set up a successful CT colonography and MR enterography service. She has extensive experience in hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal and pelvic imaging.
Dr Griffin has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications, as well as numerous book chapters. She has co-authored and co-edited a best selling major 1 volume (1000 page) radiology textbook – Grainger & Allison’s Diagnostic Radiology Essentials (Lee A Grant, Nyree Griffin, 1st and 2nd Edition, Elsevier, May 2013/Dec 2018). She is currently the Radiology Regional Training Programme Director for South East London.
In additional to oncology/abdominal cross sectional reporting, Dr Griffin can offer general/pelvic ultrasound (including transvaginal ultrasound), small bowel ultrasound, small parts and vascular ultrasound.

After completing his general radiology training at the Royal Free hospital (London) with neuroradiology training at the National hospital for neurology and neurosurgery (Queen’s square, London) and Great Ormond street hospital, (London) Dr Kandasamy undertook further diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology training as part of the pan-London neuroradiology “fellowship” working in leading hospitals and neuro-sciences centres (Charing Cross hospital, King’s College hospital and St George’s Hospital). Since 2009 Dr Kandasamy has been a substantive Consultant in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at King’s college hospital, one of the country’s leading and reputed neuro-sciences centre. He does most aspects of Brain and spine imaging with particular interest in neuro-oncology (brain tumour) imaging, stroke (imaging and treatment) and neurovascular (brain aneurysm, brain / spinal cord vascular malformations) imaging and their treatment. Dr Kandasamy routinely offers consultation for patients with brain and spinal cord vascular abnormalities for discussion and treatment under a joint neurovascular multidisciplinary (neuroradiology, neurosurgery and neurology) set up. Dr Kandasamy lectures extensively both within the UK and abroad.

Dr. Jean Marie U-King-Im is a Consultant Neuroradiologist at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals, part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre, In London. He trained in general radiology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and completed a 2 year diagnostic fellowship in adult and paediatric neuroimaging as well as head and neck/ENT/maxillofacial imaging at the University of Toronto in Canada. He has special interests in spinal imaging, vascular imaging and imaging of stroke/cerebrovascular disease, imaging of cognitive impairment as well as paediatric neuroimaging. Dr U-King-Im has published extensively with more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in high impact radiology journals as well as several book chapters. He holds a PHD in the field of neurovascular imaging from the University of Cambridge, and has won several prizes for his research and during his clinical training. He is also actively involved in teaching radiology trainees.

Dr Janani Pillai, (previously Dr J Kumaraguru), completed her general radiology training at King’s College Hospital, London. Apart from obtaining the FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologists, UK, she is also a certified Radiologist from the European Board with a European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR).
Whilst at Kings, one of the four major trauma centres in London, the extensive exposure to Skeletal injuries and Musculoskeletal radiology kindled her interest in musculoskeletal imaging which prompted her to obtain the sought after musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster hospital, London. Following this, she took up a substantive Consultant Radiologist post at the London North West Health Care NHS Trust (Northwick Park, Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals).
Dr J K Pillai is a recipient of Institute of Leadership and Management endorsed Award as a Radiology Registrar in 2015. She enjoys teaching radiology including Ultrasound imaging to Radiologists, Medical Students, Doctors and Other Health Care Professionals, having been part of the Faculty in London MSK Ultrasound Skills Course.
Dr. Pillai has been nominated for The Trainer of the Year Award in 2017 for her commitment to teaching. She has extensively presented in various regional meetings and in national and international conferences including the UK Radiological Congress and European Society of Skeletal Radiologists.

Dr Babar has expertise in a number of modalities including MRI and ultrasound scanning. Dr. Sajid Butt is a Consultant Radiologist specialising in musculoskeletal disorders. Since 2005, he has worked as a Consultant Radiologist at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, NHS Trust, Stanmore. This tertiary care centre is an international centre of excellence. His areas of special interest are sports injury imaging, bone and soft tissue tumours and spinal imaging. He also performs image guided therapeutic and diagnostic injections for spinal and orthopaedic disorders. Dr. Butt completed his radiology residency from Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2003. He then completed a one-year fellowship in radiology of musculoskeletal and spinal disorders from the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry in 2004. Dr Lotzof is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist. He has a special interest in the treatment of venous and arteriovenous malformations. His other main interest is MRI of the TMJ. He also reports on all CT examinations except cardiac and all MRI examinations except cardiac and breast.

He performs general and specialised ultrasound including endoluminal, transrectal and trans vaginal. Giles writes extensively on the imaging of renal masses, renal cancer and the staging of renal malignancy. He lectures extensively in the UK as well as in North America and Japan. Dr. Rottenberg qualified in medicine from St Mary’s Hospital, London and trained in Radiology at The Middlesex and University college Hospitals.

Dr. Dhiren Shah is a Consultant Radiologist at Northwick Park Hospital.

Dr Shah has co-authored two books in MSK radiology, published in peer-reviewed radiology journals, and has lectured extensively at general and MSK radiology conferences.

Professor Gishen is Head of the Department of Imaging at Hammersmith, Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals.
He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain and sciatica using all radiological modalities (plain film, lumbar spine, screening, CT, MR, and Isotope scanning including SPECT-CT and PET-CT) to establish the most accurate diagnosis and treatment possible. He readily reports on plain films, CT and magnetic resonance scans.
He has published widely on topics related to back pain and sciatica.

He has a comprehensive diagnostic neuroradiology practice encompassing the entire age range from foetal MRI and paediatric neuroimaging to the full spectrum of adult neurological disease including spinal imaging. His research interests are currently centred in brain tumour imaging having previously published on cerebrovascular disease and other topics.

Dr John Stevenson is a consultant metabolic physician, based at Royal Brompton Hospital, who treats private and NHS patients.
In 1972, Dr Stevenson qualified in medicine at King’s College Hospital Medical School (now part of King’s College London), then completed his training in general medicine in London and Southampton.
Following that, he completed specialist training in endocrinology and metabolism at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital (now part of Imperial College London). He went on to extend his research and expertise into the effects of sex hormone deficiency and replacement both on the skeleton and on the cardiovascular system.

He completed undergraduate training from Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ Medical School, as well as obtaining an Intercalated BSc in Radiological Sciences. He undertook radiology training at Northwick Park Hospital with subspecialty training at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as well as higher-level training at Great Ormond Street and Royal Brompton Hospitals.
He has extensive experience in a wide range of Paediatric and Cardiothoracic imaging as well as general body CT, ultrasound and MRI reporting. He also has a keen interest in teaching and is currently the Training Programme Director for the Radiology training scheme.
