Jane Paterson is an advanced aesthetic nurse practitioner and has dedicated over 20 years of her career to working and teaching in aesthetic medicine. She is a highly qualified and experienced provider of anti-ageing advice and skin treatments, as well as a wide range of non-surgical injectable techniques and procedures.

She has worked with renowned plastic surgeons in Oxford, London and Scotland, and has learnt and perfected the most up-to-date, advanced non-surgical techniques. She has also worked for major cosmetic healthcare providers, including the Transform Medical Group, La Belle Forme and Face and Body in Scotland.

Jane has a postgraduate qualification in dermatology and is a member of the British Association of Dermatology Nurses. She takes a holistic approach to optimising skin health and encourages patients to consider how improved health and fitness might enhance their skin’s health and appearance as well as their overall well-being.

Jane regularly attends training courses and conferences to understand the latest developments and trends in aesthetic medicine to further enhance her knowledge and skills.

A classical ballet dancer in her youth, she is also a qualified Pilates teacher and trainer. She has written a well-received manual for Pilates teachers and health professionals called “Teaching Pilates for Postural Faults and Injury”. Jane continues to regularly practice Pilates and yoga and has recently taken up on-line classes in ballroom dancing and French.

Dr. Ruben Kannan is an award-winning Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) in East Grinstead; of ‘McIndoe and Guinea Pig Club’ fame. He has extensive experience in Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery.

Mr. Kannan graduated from The Christian Medical College, Vellore in 1999 and undertook his basic surgical training under the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then went on to complete a PhD in Nanotechnology at the University College London, contributing greatly to research which led to the world’s first synthetic organ transplant.

Mr Kannan was then selected for the UK higher surgical training programme at the South Yorkshire Deanery, followed by advanced fellowships in Facial Surgery/Microsurgery (St Andrew’s Centre, Chelmsford), Aesthetic Surgery (National TIG fellowship, Leicester) and Breast Reconstruction (Birmingham). He obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and thereby, joined the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery in 2012. His NHS consultant career, started shortly after.

Since then, he has completed an additional diploma in ENT head and neck surgery to hone his skill set further, with very specialised training in Japan (Super-microsurgery) and the US (Migraine Surgery).

As well as being an excellent clinician, Mr. Kannan has a keen interest in research (with over a hundred publications and presentations) and is a peer-reviewer for the BAPRAS-accredited Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS). He also helps run national and international fellowships in Facial Restorative Surgery, with visitors from all over the world. Currently, he heads QVH’s Facial Palsy Unit and is a founder-member of the UK Cranial Nerve Network; the world’s first network of Cranial Nerve Specialists.

As a leading expert in his field, Mr. Ruben Kannan also acts as a professional expert witness for medico-legal cases in the UK, pertaining to facial nerve injuries after accidents and surgery.
